Building on the success of the Inda Nebr’Id restoration and the Axumite Heritage Library, the Institute of Axumite Studies (IAS) and Museum represent AHF’s next step in preserving, studying, and sharing the rich cultural and historical legacy of Axum.
A Center for Research and Learning
The IAS is envisioned as a hub for interdisciplinary research, focusing on Axumite civilization, history, language, and culture. Scholars, students, and researchers from around the world will have access to a carefully curated collection of manuscripts, archival materials, and academic resources that document the region’s heritage.
Museum and Cultural Preservation
The accompanying Museum will serve as a living repository of Axumite history, showcasing artifacts, ethnographic materials, and contemporary works that reflect both ancient achievements and modern cultural expressions. Exhibits will highlight local craftsmanship, traditions, and the enduring contributions of Axumite society to broader regional history.
Community Engagement and Education
The IAS and Museum are designed not only for scholars but also for the public.
