The Axumite Heritage Foundation (AHF) was established in 1993 by the Ethiopian Community Development Council (ECDC) to preserve and promote the cultural legacy of Axum, one of the world’s oldest and most influential civilizations. Recognizing Axum’s central role in Ethiopian history—as a hub of trade, scholarship, and spirituality—the Foundation was created to ensure that its ancient achievements and modern cultural expressions are protected and shared with future generations.
Since its founding, AHF has focused on restoration, preservation, research, and public education, fostering a deeper understanding of Axum’s contributions to world civilization. Through these efforts, the Foundation continues to serve as a bridge connecting Ethiopia’s rich past with its dynamic present and future.
